Campaign Finance Reform
Public Financing of Campaigns Tell big money to hit the road jack! Most of the folks in office wouldn't be elected if it were not for Super PACs. Super PACs raise unlimited sums of money from corporations, unions, associations, and individuals, then spend unlimited sums to overtly advocate for or against political candidates. Super PACs buy and influence our elections leaving the people without the right man or woman for the job. I support publicly funded elections and term limits.
Term Limits I'm a strong supporter of term-limits in public office. I believe that every four years (with an incumbent no more than 3 terms) voters should be have the opportunity to elect new representatives in the House and Senate; including county councils and school boards. I also believe that every eight years voters should be guaranteed that opportunity. No party or incumbent should ever have a guaranteed hold on our public seats or government. Incumbents who become termed-out should aspire to run for other offices if he or she believes their service has been great for the people of their state or county.
